Routed Profiles

A routed door is bought for its detail. Spray it like a flat panel and the coating pools in the internal corners, softens the shoulders, and you have paid for a profile you can no longer see.

Profiles are sprayed differently to flat work: lighter passes, more of them, and gun angles that get into the internal corners without loading them up.

The routed edges of MDF are also thirstier than the face. They need sealing properly or they drink primer and dry back matte in exactly the places the eye goes.

This is priced above flat panel work on the price list for a reason: it is more passes, more masking and more time on the same square metre.

Questions we actually get

Why do routed doors cost more per square metre?
Because a square metre of routed door is not a square metre of flat door. It takes more passes, lighter ones, and more time getting into the internal corners without filling them. The price list separates the two rates for that reason.
