V groove wardrobe fronts
Eight grooved doors finished so the lines stay sharp and read straight along their full height.

The groove is end grain for most of its length. Left unsealed it drinks differently to the face and dries back with a visible change in sheen straight down the line: which on a two metre door is the first thing anyone sees.
Sealing the cuts came first, then building the film on the face while staying deliberately light inside the groove. Too much material there and a V becomes a U.
Grooves get checked by sighting along them from the end of the rack. A wobble you cannot see standing square on is obvious from that angle, and a wardrobe wall is looked at from an angle far more often than head on.
